Flood/Rain/Windstorm Affected Persons In Soba Federal Constituency Get NEMA Relief Materials
Following the approval granted by the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Kaduna Operations Office carried out the direct distribution of Federal Government relief materials to persons affected by flood/rain/windstorm disaster in Soba Federal Constituency, Kaduna State.
The distribution exercise was conducted by officials of the NEMA Kaduna Operations Office, in collaboration with representatives of the Honourable Member representing Soba Federal Constituency, RT. Hon. Engr. Suleiman Yahaya Richifa, who was represented by his Legislative Aide (L.A.), members of the affected communities, and relevant local government officials, in line with the Agency’s mandate of timely and effective humanitarian intervention.
The Kaduna Operations Office team was led by the Head of Operations, Mal. Suleiman Muhammad, who represented the Director-General, NEMA, during the distribution exercise. On behalf of the Director-General, the Head of Operations commiserated with the affected beneficiaries over their losses and urged them to make judicious and effective use of the relief materials provided.
The following relief materials approved by the Director-General were distributed directly to the affected persons, 300 bags of Rice (25kg each), 300 bags of Maize (25kg each), 300 bags of Beans (25kg each), 30 cartons of Seasoning Cubes, 30 cartons of Vegetable Oil (5 litres × 4), 50 cartons of Tomato Paste (50 sachets per carton) and 30 bags of Iodized Salt (1kg × 20).
The direct distribution exercise was successfully carried out, with adequate security and oversight provided by the Police, local security outfits, community leaders, and the media. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Federal Government through NEMA for the timely intervention and support.
The Kaduna Operations Office reiterated its commitment to accountability, coordination, and compassionate service delivery in disaster response across the state.
