NEMA North West Distributes Relief Materials To Disaster Victims In Southern Kaduna




Several Communities in Zango Kataf Local Government Area have benefited from Federal Government relief support through NEMA North West Zone, following a windstorm disaster and banditry attacks in the areas.


The Zonal Coordinator, Suleiman Muhanmad led other staff of the agency for the direct distribution exercise held at the premises of the Atyap Chiefdom in Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna.


The honourable member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Dr. Amos Gwamna Magaji, Royal Fathers and other concern authorities from the affected communities were all present during the direct distribution to the beneficiaries.


The honourable member who facilitated the approved relief materials commended and appreciated the Director General, NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar for her relentless efforts to provide prompt support whenever the need arises.


However, the Zonal Coordinator delivered the Director General's humble regards and also commiserated with the affected persons, saying the relief support is just a form of assistance to cushion their plight as it cannot completely replace their huge losses.


The relief materials distributed to the beneficiaries from different communities in Zango Kataf comprises of food, non food items clothings like guinea brocade, men, women and children wears.


The relief items are designed specifically for those affected by the windstorm however, the gesture was extended to people who suffered banditry onslaught with women mainly widows and orphans benefited from the federal government's support.


Also the district heads and religious leaders from the  respective Communities took time on behalf of the beneficiaries appreciated the federal government support through NEMA, the honorable member and every individual or organization that played a vital role for the successes of the gesture.
