Increased Efficiency: Customs Holds Workshop For Licensed Agents, Bonded Terminal Operators




 The Nigeria Customs Service successfully hosted a sensitization workshop for licensed Customs Agents and Bonded terminal operators at the Abdullahi Dikko Inde MFR Conference Hall, Bompai, Kano. 



According to a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Kano/Jigawa Area Command, SC Saidu Nuruddeen  made available at the weekend,  the event is  aimed at enhancing service delivery and trade facilitation in the region.


Comptroller Dauda Ibrahim Chana, the host and representative of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Customs Agents, Bonded terminal operators, and the service in promoting trade facilitation and combating smuggling.


Comptroller Funmilayo Fajana of the License and Permit Unit, Trade and Tariff Department, Service Headquarters, also delivered a speech, highlighting the service commitment to streamlining processes and enhancing trade facilitation. Representatives of Customs Agents and Bonded warehouse operators shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in the industry.


Renowned resource persons, led by DC Dalhatu Abubakar, delivered insightful lectures on topics crucial to the theme of the workshop. 


These sessions equipped participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to simplify customs procedures and the new laws guiding their trade.


The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of customs procedures and regulations among licensed Customs Agents and Bonded terminal operators, improve compliance with trade facilitation standards and foster collaboration between stakeholders in promoting legitimate trade.


The successful event marked a significant step towards achieving these objectives, paving the way for increased efficiency and effectiveness in Nigeria's customs operations.
